Sustainability On Campus

  • What does sustainability mean to Mercer?
    • Here at Mercer, we realize that sustainability is a very complex issue, which is why we are dedicated to finding innovative solutions that benefit not only the Mercer community, but the Macon community as well.
  • What is Mercer doing to be more sustainable?
    • Currently, there are numerous efforts being led by student organizations, like Greener Mercer and SGA's Green Committee, to educate and inform students on how students can practice more sustainable behavior in their daily lives. Also, recycling is becoming more convenient on campus to ensure waste is properly disposed.
  • How can I be more sustainable on campus?
    • Recycle!! There are bins located near dumpsters around campus that collect plastic materials, paper, and aluminum cans.
    • RECYCLING DAY: On Mondays from 9am-11am students who live in residents hall located on around Cruz Plaza(Mercer Hall, Roberts, Sherwood, Shorter) can dispose of their PLASTIC MATERIALS ONLY in bins located in front of Mercer Hall. And on Wednesday's from 9am-11am freshman can dispose of their plastic materials collected throughout the week in bins located in front of the sound entrance of Dowell.
